I'd really like to hear about parts availabilty. It would seem that virtually everything on the 959 would be unobtainium.
Beautiful car.

Bingo. The money I've saved by renting instead of owning over the past three years would pay for more than 1/2 of the car...

What?!?!
|
Hey Wayne, first great story on the car! Hope to see it someday. Congrats.
Wasn't there a company in No Cal that bought several (approx 10+) 959 and had been essentially "importing" them? Couldn't have been more than 6 years ago I think I saw the story. They had made some changes that made them compliant and had rebuilt some engines to produce 600+ Hp. Am I crazy or was that happening?

The 959 along with the Carrera GT are 2 Porsches' that are one of a kind cars.
Look forward to following the progress of your 959. What was the stock HP? |

The factory HP is 450 and 370 pounds of torque, with 1/4 mile runs of 11.5 or so. When I was stationed in West Germany between 87 to 90, I remember seen only 2 959's in the road in all of the time I was there. With only 200 cars made and none for the US, I guess I was lucky to see then on the road, the same goes for the BMW M1 and Z1 cars that never came here to the US.
Wayne enjoy yours and keep it until it falls apart!
