Wow I just saw this thread. OMG I can't believe you own a 959!! Congrats and yes I'm jealous but it's all good!
I just hope that you never ever sell this car, I would sell my house, and both kidneys before I would sell this car. Gorgeous color too. I agree that they look so much better in real. I was lucky to see one of the first ones when they came out, I lived in France on the German border and I think car #3 was in town for a drive and I got to talk to the owner it was amazing.
Again congrats Wayne!

Wayne,
Congrats on your new adventure. That is a beautiful machine. I'm glad to see it go to someone who appreciates it for what it is and not what it could be.
Good luck and enjoy.
I'm sure everyone here will be looking for the You-tube vid of a couple hot-laps around some twisties.
Matt.

I somehow feel very remotely connected to this new purchase. Here's the SC that was sold off a few years ago to ultimately add to the kitty. I wasn't the first purchaser but it has plenty of Pelican stuff added after I acquired it. That should buy me a ride as some point????? Oh, and BTW it's quite a nice little car now.

Congrats. I hope it's gets driven more than the 308 :-)

Wow, didn't even recognize my old car at first glance. It was pretty rough when I sold it to James - he did a good job of cleaning it up.

I am very interested in the charity auction ride that you mentioned. Is this really going to happen some time?

Congrats and glad to see it go to someone who knows what he has and will take care of it. That said, drive the thing on a semi-regular basis to keep it up.

Wayne, congrats on such a special car, and thanks for sharing it!

Please let us know when you put together a description of the car's management of the drivetrain. Looking at the right side control lever by the steering wheel and the gauge, it looks like you're able to control the lateral and longitudinal differential locking moments. I'd really enjoy hearing about the specifics of this system because it looks like a variation of the theme used on the 964 C4 but instead of a center differential at the transmission front end, it looks like it has the center differential in the front differential to control the longitudinal torque distribution? Please keep us posted! Really neat stuff.

I worked at the Nike campus in 2002, and one day I looked out my window into the courtyard, and I saw this. Registered in Oregon, don't know who it belonged to. It was the first time I knew that the 959 was finally streetable.

I'm learning new stuff everyday. I'm going to start with the turbo boost system repair, and then move on to the drivetrain, which seems more complicated to me...

man... your new one makes me feel like to ask my boss for a salary change, not even a raise. Will you show it to us when you are "done working" on it, some coffee meetings maybe?
