I think that the black details (Carrera script, black headlight trim, etc.) will give it that nice finishing touch... Still waiting on the headliner before we can install all the glass... |
Awesome looking build Wachuko!! What are you planning to do for suspension?

Currently all stock... What would you suggest??

Check my build out. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/paint-bodywork-discussion-forum/502929-diy-iroc-rsr-conversion.html Hal |
Nice work! :subscribed: :)

All sanding completed on the RSR...buffing is next. Headliner arrives on Monday so that will get installed that week. After that, all glass is installed back in the car.
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...t-of-three.jpg Still need to install the wire mesh in the qtr panel cutouts and front fenders sides. At that point, we put it on a trailer and take it back home to drop the engine and transmission (we did not have time to do it before, duh! ). And we will paint the engine bay the same color as the outside... just because :) We will clean the engine, take out the CIS stuff to clean the lines, injectors and make sure there is no gunk for sitting so long. I will install a new fuel pump as well. Interior is next. We have everything, just need to install the carpet, seats. Fire it up and take it for a test drive, woohooo... |
Headliner installed, car polished, Alejandro is now installing everything back... waiting for more photos

Thank you for the comments!! Can't believe the body work and paint are finally done!! I am flying back from SFO today and should be able to see the car tomorrow. Can't believe that the body work and paint are finally done!! The car should be completed (outside) today... I will take better photos on Saturday and share those as soon as I get home.

Looks killer!

Well... car is not done. Probably has another week to go on the outside before I can take it home to finish the interior...

Wachuko!
Looks awesome. Is that metal fabric in the rear flare a weave or welded wire? H |

Wachuko, you are without a doubt my new HERO, what an incredible job. Having taken on a build of this magnitude is very impressive.
I hope you have many years of "DRIVE HARD, SMILE A LOT" moments, and when you tire of it and decide to do your 73RS project, call me and I will buy this car and bring it to where the northern pelicans roam. Continued success, Stay Well, Mike |
A few more from today. Alejandro is working on the sunroof, installing the bumpers with the rubber trim... Should really be done by Thursday of this week... still pending is the front spoiler lip, side mirrors, Carrera script (waiting a few weeks before installing that to let the paint cure some more), interior (everything)... I just want it home!!

Looking great Wachuko! To answer you about suspension recommendation, a really great guy to talk to is Chuck Moreland at Elephant Racing. He knows it all and can help you figure out a combo that meets your needs. He's also very helpful with setup and installation questions. For my 911SC hot rod, I wanted to sharpen everything up without making the ride harsh, so we did a combo or his sport rubber bushings all around, mono ball camber plate strut mounts, hollow torsion bars, raised and braced Bilstein struts with custom valving, low friction control arm mounts and other smaller items. He's a great guy and can work with any budget.
Keep on posting pics and good luck with all of your progress! Cheers, Craig_D P.S. can you post some pics of your through-the-hood fuel filler set up? It looks wicked and I'd love to see how you did it. :) |
