Part ID?? installing MSD on an SC

Can you tell me what this is and if you have an idea of where to remount it? I know I'll have to remount the VR (unless I find the time to put in my new alternator, then I'll just skip the VR).

Any other tips appreciated--been looking thru the msd mount/install links and nothing about the fact that the msd does not fit on the plate of an sc without moving the VR and whatever this thing is..

I also looked on the parts diagrams on this site and couldn't locate it--can you?

thanks in advance.

Jack

I'm pretty sure that part you are asking about is the rear defogger relay.

The relay can move, but you can also have the MSD hanging a bit off the far edge without any problems. I made a couple little throughholes for it into the tin. Just be careful that you don't block the holes needed to mount the tin onto the car.

In a minute or two, though, you're going to get pictures from others that have done BEAUTIFUL jobs making/adjusting new mounting positions and the like.

Another data-point: I put the cover back on over the whole assembly without any intereference or overheating problems.

thanks Brian, that's it. And Babak, I've seen the install pix...pretty impressive but it didn't seem to help me out with where I am in the process now.

But how can you have the msd hanging over the edge when the stud holes are right along the edge of the msd?
