| Member 911 Anonymous | My Lady vs. Baby 911
Funny thing happened to me this evening. I was surfing the threads and posted a reply when my Lady saw a post of mine that referred to my ride as "baby". Oh shiznet , she said in a serious tone, "Baby? I thought I was your baby?" Then silence and not even a glance over. What the duck? Does your significant other have a jealousy thing about your "Baby"? You see my Lady is Latina and boy does she get CELOSA Let's hear your Jealousy Story

LOL. That will teach you! My mrs understands that i need another toy in my life. I always have! But as the years go by, she seems to get a bit narky when i crawl out from under the car in the early hours.

My wife thought that having a toy would make me too busy and too broke to have a mistress. Not into cars, but she likes bling, so Porsches suit her like a gold medallion.

My wife used to give me crap about my Porsche addiction until I looked her straight in the eye and said "it's either this or a big-titted blonde - which one would you prefer I get?" I spent a couple nights on the couch for that, but she hasn't given me a hard time about the P-cars since. Go draw your line in the sand. The couch is comfortable enough.

^^^^That's why you buy comfortable couches The wife met up with me after my first Pcar project had started...I told her then, I'd always be faithful - just don't ask me to give up the cars...she's never asked or hinted in that direction.

My wife has a horse. She never complains about my hobbies. My acquisition costs are higher; her upkeep and mandatory time requirements are higher.

Wife? What wife? I got my baby first.... My chances of getting married have plummeted.

Mine gave me crap about mine, too. The money I spent on it, the time I spent on it. THen I came home with another one suddenly. And she's been quiet ever since.

 been there...

Oh yeah... I continue to hear it. About working on the car rather than the house and the yard, about spending money on car parts rather than going out to dinner or a vacation..... My big mistake: "But dear, a nice relaxing weekend in the garage working on the car is a vacation to me..." To be fair, she has realized that because my P-car will hold its value, unlike many of my other project cars & bikes, it is less objectionable. The fact that a few of our friends reached middle age & traded in for a newer model wife also has cut down on the complaints. So far, this particular car has cost me a kitchen remodeling and various new appliances. On the upside, the Fabspeed premuffler arrived last week and the Dansk 1-in-2-out arrived yesterday; the SW chip is on its way. Last edited by dw1; 11-16-2007 at 05:50 PM..

haha, which goes first ? The wife or the 911? I have gotten my priorities finally straight. I got the 911 after getting divorced (er while separated). We all got stories for who was wrong so I'll leave it at that. As for how did I make out? I miss my daughter. But as for the ladies, maintenance -- +1 -- 911 down time -- +1 -- 911 national holiday driver -- +1 -- ex-wife (her rev'ness was high end) thrill factor -- +1 -- 911 (hey, I can drive it everyday!) re-sale value -- +1 -- 911 (this is subjective since I would say "too each his own" and for the new guy "the best of luck!") shape -- +1 -- 911 (I can say to it "you have a fat arse!) late night thoughts -- +1 -- 911 (less stress and possibility of fantasy coming true is high) companionship -- +1 -- female (hey I'm still a guy after all, but I almost gave the point to the 911) So the winner is ..... Why bother we already know! The jests aside, I still want to find that someone special to share my non-driving time However, I make it very clear like the example above, my 911, is very healthy for our relationship and that getting rid of it could quite possibly end up with me thinking of other types of curves! Cheers and don't forget to make your power point presentation to your partner when this issue comes up, they will undoubtedly think you are crazy and beyond hope :P

You may just have been lucky, so far. Horses can easily exceed the acquisition costs of our cars. Ask me how I know.

I told mine right away, if I have the car, you know where I am, I'm playing with the Porsche. If I don't have it, where will I be? What will I be playing with? True story - My buddies dad is building a Factory Five Cobra, and the other weekend they were going to fire up the crate motor for the first time. So my buddy calls me on the Thursday night and asks if I want to go to Ottawa with him for the first startup on the weekend. So I approached my wife, and said that I knew it was really short notice and that I understood if she didn't want me to go...but she said "No, I want you to go, one day I want you to get a Cobra and build it, so I want you to learn as much as you can..." Maybe this marriage thing is going to work out, after all.
