While not reading every post I've finished two bourbons reviewing this thread. What a treat. I fear I'll always look at my 911 and feel slight disappointment knowing there are others built to this degree out there.

At least I'll feel comfortable driving the hell out of mine! I'll take solace in that I suppose.

Every Porsche is special and offers a unique driving experience of its own. This project has been a fun history lesson in addition to a long time build. When we started down this road I would have never dreamed this is where my old 87 911 DE car would end up. I still remember taking delivery of it back in 2003 and using as my daily driver. I look forward to having my old friend back on the road and track. I truly appreciate all of the talented people and friends I have made along the way with this car and at the end of the day thats what its all about.

This is wild. I purchased the original engine out of this car and I’ve been driving it for almost 13 years! I admire Keith’s persistence of vision and look forward to seeing the finished car.

I see many copies mimicking the stress and wear of an old seat with the headrest tilted back, and not straight up or canted slightly inward.

Perhaps the strain of a racing helmet pressing back on it with the thin neck bending backwards took it's toll.

Great car project, inside to outside.

It’s been a great engine. It was supercharged a few years ago and chipped. Been doing 300+ hp ever since. Take care.

Where did you source your rollbar?
Did you make it in house or purchase it from some vendor?
Looks like just what I am after for an upcoming project.

Car is looking great.

Thank you so much, I took this from Ward's website but here are some details on the seat build process:

"After many requests and a lot of prototyping we have now created an almost exact duplicate of the amazing Lollipop racing style seat. We are lucky enough to have had an original Lollipop seat in our inventory that we carefully removed the seat material, foam, and carpet backing then made a perfect mold from the original thin layer hand laid fiberglass.

During prototyping we found we needed to strengthen the neck and lower back areas as they were cracked and showed spots of weakness. We were able to use hand laid cloth instead of blown chipped fiberglass to make the seat both very strong and still light. We also added a bit thicker metal plates for attaching to the base which again was an improvement. In the end we are just 2 pounds heavier than the original and MUCH stronger and safer.

Next we matched all the cushion pieces to templates and glued them in precisely. We then let our master upholsterers match the Recaro cloth/foam material for a perfect fit.

Lastly, we sourced very light & thin German loop carpeting to match the carpet back of the original.

And there you have it. A new, stronger, and safer Lollipop for your RSR or any race type application. The only down side to this seat is the size. It is very narrow as it was designed for the small, light, and fit race drivers of the day. It is an exact copy, but may not be functional for everyone --- but wait, we fixed that with the new Lollipop-Comfort seat which is exactly the same mold, but widened 2 inches in the back and seat bottom. Yes, now even normal people can sit in one, be comfortable, but also very stable for those track days or sporty driving.

And what’s better than a Lollipop-Comfort size for “real men”!!Yes, the original Lollipop was designed for let’s say “small”, I prefer “tiny” drivers, and the new Comfort size fits non-supermodel size people perfectly. What a thrill ride in a Lollipop replica seat – style AND comfort."

Its been a while since I have posted but things are still moving along albeit slowly. We finally got the engine heads back after waiting for roughly a year and the engine build has restarted. Here is a photo of how the car sits currently.
