X country trip day after turkey day
It's time to finally bring the other 930 to the west coast. Seems the blue one misses the black one since Chris and Charles brought it out here
ChrisBennet XCountry Tour This week So the plan is to leave NH friday after TG, then head to Baltimore for some left over turkey at my bros.. then head west.. I'm thinking of doing the southern route... Any suggestions?? I'll be flying solo, so can stop in and have coffee/lunch with anyone/everyone along the way... Todd

I'm leaning towards the southern route as I need to be in the bay area later in the week so can just string it together, plus the threat of snow/ice is always lurking

I usually time Great Lakes/Canadian storms when leaving the east.
I wouldn't be surprised if you wind up on I-10. It's a lousy mostly quick ride till you hit west Texas. I don't think you have much choice but to monitor the weather every day at the truck stops. good luck

If you take the southern route, I'm in Phoenix. My garage is stocked with tools and beer.
Have fun, be safe and post pictures.

If you come as far south as I40, and run through west Tennessee, I am sure a few of us in this area would be glad for an excuse to drive our cars and meet you for some lunch/dinner/? Let me know what you decide and I can try and coordinate it better when I know a timeframe, if you come this way. Either way, have a safe trip and I hope it is fun...

Todd,
So we are clear, the ‘Northern Route’ (NR) is I-80 directly into the Bay Area and the ‘Southern Route’ (SR) is I-40 via LA and north on the 5. Obviously, the SR is longer. It depends on the weather. I would investigate all the possibilities and only decide when you have reasonably reliable weather forecasts. If you want to come through Denver (mid-route), I’m sure we can host you. Hopefully you will have a laptop with wireless connection so you can post images of your adventure and we can rescue. HeHe. Best, Grady

Grady, yes it's going to be totally weather dependant.. and I'll be traveling with the usual list of electronics, laptop, i phone , digital SLR, GPS, radar detector, XM radio, flux capacitor recharge unit......

With all that turkey on board (the food, not you), just make sure you don't wind up nodding off in a food coma while driving alone for those long distances you have planned. Stay safe, and don't forget the blinker fluid, either.

We'll be in Niles, MI (South Bend, IN...Notre Dame land) over the holiday. But if you're in the area, you're welcome to stop by! Julie is making lasagna to compliment the turkey Ma is making...so we'll have "options" if you're too full of turkey. ![]() Edit: Ma is cooking a turkey...not making one...

Todd,
If you take the northern route, I am just north of Denver in Fort Collins. Stop in as I have lots of beer and aluminum cans that will help you charge your old Flux Capacitor. I just installed my new one. I got it on gBay for a great price... Here is my old one: ![]() An here is my new one: The famed and fabled Flux Capacitor! Many flux capacitor designs have come and gone in the marketplace. Most have only been compatible with certain low production paintless cars. But now, KaleCoAuto has brought to you a modern Flux Capacitor fully compatible with any present day vehicle! This item may be expensive, but can you place a price on time travel? NOTE: Special return policy: If you are not 100% satisfied, you may return this product for a full refund, in no LESS than 30 days before you purchase it! Special Holiday Price $175,000.00 ![]() We've come a long way, baby! ![]() Have a great trip and post lots of photos!!!!!! ![]() Jerry
