Advise on how to remove Engine Electronics Plug

While I have the engine and transmission out for a transmission rebuild and an engine cleanup, I want to paint the engine compartment. I am removing all of the wires etc to get a good paint job, and I cannot figure out how to remove the engine electronic plug without damaging it. I was hoping you might know the trick.

drill the pop-rivets and re-rivet after painting. if you just want to remove the plastic part, push down and slide. takes some effort.

Thanks John. I found that if you press up on the front underside the whole thing can be slid out. Thanks. I just needed your post to know if could be done to play around enough. Than
