What's this glue stuff behind my engine oil cooler?

those are potential leak areas. there's a steel tube case into the case and sometimes there is seepage there. someone was prudent in applying epoxy there.

JB weld to reinforce potential leak areas where the underlying casting may be thin. Wayne's rebuild book shows similar areas on the engine case and chain housings where it is used.

Martin,
There is a cast-in-place pipe there that is part of the oil system. For whatever reason (casting I suppose) some of the pipe was intentionally left exposed. Porsche covered the exposed parts with epoxy. Virtually every 911 is like that. BTW, Thanks again for your hospitality the last time I was there. Best, Grady
