Dam it fellas - I did not post this as a freakin 944 vs 911 post. The article I mentioned talks about the virtues of BOTH cars and has some really neat input on the 911.

I was mistaken in thinking anyone would want a copy of this - for the same reason Road & Track wrote the article - real information. No idiotic bias, which seems to run this BBS lately.

HEY WAYNE - will you please remove this post too if I promise to never post anything here again???

you're always welcome to send it to me.. but i already have it. however... let me double check it because i may have a different article. what is the month and year of the issue with the test you have?

I'd love to see it, as a current owner of '85 911 and previous owner of '89 951. Thanks in advance..

I think i am the only person that likes 944 styling over 911 styling......I mean a 951 like this 1989 Turbo S http://images.autotrader.com/619/800...13_240x160.jpg

These posts seem to go on and on in a circular fashion. Every now and then a newbie comes along defiantly supporting/harrasing a different model, someone objects etc etc etc.
Let me just clear the matter up for once and for all and then we can leave the topic alone:

911's thrash 944's all day, every day and in every way.

Well that 951 up there can thrash you anyday......

WAYNE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 944 is my daily driver, because I get more girlies waving to me in it over my 911. For the life of me, I still can't figure that out. Oh..Yeah,..ahh.. gas mileage has nothing to do with it.

hoff944 03-12-2001 06:39 PM

ah geez.......come on, can't we all just get along? The 911 and 944 are great cars in their own rights, but just for the record, I'm looking into a 911 next.

just got my book out this morning and it was not a Road and Track article that compared the 911 and the 944 turbo. it ws an article from a britich magazine. i can scan it in if people are interested.

it makes for a damn good read.

I'd take a copy. "over1g@hotmail.com"

We all have our opinions, this isn't about that, this post is about sharing this article.

I've driven my share of 911s, they deserve the respect they have, but I honestly like 944s better, personal choice.

ok, the only problem is that the article may be over 1meg and i don't think i can e-mail it to hotmail addresses because they have a 1 meg cap.

i also might be able to put it on my FTP site. does everyone here have an FTP client / program that they can use to fetch it?

tell me what is easier, i can scan it in when i get home.

thanks!

Obin - if you want to put it on your ftp site or email it to me, I can post it on my web server (T1, unlimited space).

Obin, Chris-

Let me know (ljonespwc@hotmail.com) when you figure out the logistics for transferring. My vote goes to the FTP or HTTP option on Chris' server. Another option is to scan the article and post it on PhotoPoint for all to read.

Sounds like a good read. I just purchased an '88 911 Club Sport, but I'm in the market for a pristine 944 Turbo. Thanks, Lance.

i have an entire bookcase that is nothing but porsche books (and laserdiscs). i will get the 944 turbo vs 911 article and scan it in for you. i'll also scan in some other articles that you may find interesting. then tomorrow morning, i'll e-mail them out to you guys.

i'll also take a pic of my bookcase because i might have a book that someone wants me to reference information in.

cool?
