Take a guess?

Should be an easy one: What is it?

Bingo!!

I got tired of trying to get consistencies out of the 4 jaw chuck and the home made fixture. There was too much time in setup so I put together this section of cam tower to a face plate which always run true time after time and is perfectly centered. Just take a head off, bolt another on and away you go. These heads just had .004 taken off the sealing surfaces and the repeatability is within .0001, close enough. PAT. PENDING

I'm fairly sure that it alligns the diathrambus, thus making sure it's in sync with the guanocruster

It's a jig to bolt heads onto for machine work. Saves time setting up the machining process. Now Craig just bolts the head (any head) onto the fixture and it's squared-up every time.

Too bad his fasteners on the face plate are not the same brand and property class- fixture will burst into flames in no time at all..........

"Saves time" is an understatement here. It would save a lot of setup time and hassle getting it exactly where it needs to be.

Very nice job!

Does taking the .004 off increase tre C/R? or is it to remove warping?
Great job with the jig.

The C/R really would not increase much with just .004 but if it did the twin plug hole and chamfer would give it back, plus some. There was slight warping but it really took out the ridge and some pitting.
