PLX Devices Wideband Oxygen Sensor / DM-5 Display
Has anyone installed and used the PLX Devices Wideband Oxygen Sensor / DM-5 Display?
Does it work well, and are the cables long enough to mount the gauge on the dash somewhere or in the console? |

It's on sale at this place

After watching some videos of these gauges in use on you-tube, I'm having second thoughts because they just flash led's back and forth and the digital readout is going all over the place... rarely settles down and thats annoying to me. Just looks like a silly light show in some of the videos. Maybe the Innovate LM-1 is the best way to go and then remove it when the AFR is correct. |

Hmmm, yeah I'm not exactly looking for the light show either but from what I understand the leds constantly move/light as the AFRs change through-out the load range..
I have an ugly little box in my car now that was installed by the previous owner & Powerhaus that provides a similar LED reading and of course changes as you accel & decel... think it was made by someone who make superchargers and Powerhaus re-badged and sold as theirs. It's a hideous little square box..that show lean, normal, rich.. no digital or analog readout at all.. so that's what I'm looking for something that will give me the digital, and the colored read for the quick glance. Sounds like the PLX might have too much going on in a confined area for the eye.

DynoJet makes a great Wideband Commander system that has an analog gauge that doesn't look too off from a classic VDO. See Link... http://www.hardracing.com/Misc/WideBand.htm
I am running one on my car and have the instrument in place of the clock on the far right side. Works and looks great! See pic.. ![]() ![]() Last edited by richemj; 12-29-2007 at 06:05 AM.. |

The innovate XD-16 makes a good permanent mount too with the LC-1
I only check it on the straight aways and at the upper rpm I use it to adjust jetting for different altitudes, and different weather I can't say if it bounces around all the time but when I look at it for the top 1000rpm it is very stable and (on my car) just slowly leans.... until I shift ![]() ![]()
