What made up an S appearance group in '71?

I've come across this list of 8 items as pertaining to the 1970 S appearance group:

velouren carpeting
gold " Porsche" nameplate and model number
aluminum door sills
911S rubber mouldings
chrome rocker panels
911S instruments
Rubber Bumperettes
leather covered steering wheel

I'm thinking this list may have changed a little for '71.

Any takers?

Brent,

I can't see why there would be any difference in the S pack for the two years.
The only other thing I have seen mentioned is an upgrading of the horns to the trumpet style (?) .

Rubber bumperettes???

What about the suspension, brakes, Fuchs, etc... Were they part of an S package?

Wheel arch trim and that funky piece below the rear bumper? I forget what it's called, but it's on the 'other' Porsche in LeMans.

According to the Porsche Data Book there were very few modifications for the 1971 model year.

To be correct, only the rubber caps on the chrome bumperettes.

The full rubber bumperettes on long nose only happened in '73, for all models. They were a lot bigger than the '72 and earlier.

I believe that the wheel arch trim was an additional option, over and above the "S" trim.

regards,

al

I took rubber bumperettes to mean chrome bumperettes with the rubber bumpers. The bumperettes without rubber were only through... 67?

Someone told me that they had an S with bumperettes. All esses came with the spoiler didn't they. And, bumperettes over that? Maybe everyone's just removed them?

And, I figured all Ts and Es came with bumperettes standard. Struck me as strange that they would be listed in the S appearance package

And as for those "rubber bumperettes" of '73... aaack!

Actually, I believe by then, all the cars had the extra rubber over the face of the chrome bumperettes. The difference is that the S rubber trim that went along the front of the bumper, the sides, and the rear was much wider than the thin non-S rubber. So, the S bumperettes had a larger cut out in the back to go around the larger rubber trim.

The described list sounds like everything that I am aware of as came on my 73 T with S appearance package - and, as mentioned, three other S things were listed separately on the invoice: those extra wheel opening trimmings ($38), S spoiler ($134), and Fuchs ($543).
