need help - need sparkplug wire order for a 75 911 2.7 cis motor

Hi all

I was doing a tune up on my car and found one of plug wire was dead. i just got new set of wire but i forgot to mark down the wiring order on the cap. there a dot on the cap i know that the plug for one. do anyone out there know the order.

just one more dumb question ? where on the discap can you tell where one is at ? is there any marking ??

Take the distributor cap off. Look at the narrow surface that the cap sits on -- you will find a radially-scribed mark. When the rotor lines up with that mark, #1 is at TDC. Now put the cap back on. Note which one of the cap's spark plug wire terminals is in-line with the rotor and the mark on the distibutor body. That's where the #1 plug wire goes. Then, looking DOWN on the cap, move clockwise from the #1 wire, installing the plug wires 6, 2, 4, 3 and then 5 in that order.
