Looking for Answers from the Gurus
Well for the last day of the year, I decided to drop my motor and came across a few issues I'd like to take care of.
I have 3 questions for those that know the answer.
Please see pictures I'm pretty sure I'll be okay with removing the Heater and Cruise Control, but I just want to be sure. Nothing like putting the engine back in and find out I shouldn't have done that! The engine is a 3.2 DME and I'm changing out my clutch and flywheel, but now it's the...while I'm in there things to do situation. Looks like I'll be replacing a bunch of items as I don't think the PO did much. Thank you very much & Have a Happy New Year! ![]() ![]()

1. yes you can, but you will have no heat
2. that white connector with one single pin is the o2 sensor. That does not look bad. 3. Do need to plug up the vacuum hose going from engine to cruise control. Or, you will have idle problem.

Agreed, doesn't look bad at all. Mine is cracked BAD and I need to replace it but I can't seem to find that part on Pelican.

Thanks for the info!
Part of the sensor is stuck in the boot. I tried looking for it and couldn't fine it either. Having no heat is okay, as it doesn't get very cold here. However, there's now a naked parking brake handle between my seats.

Your photos
Thrlls,
Nice photos and descriptive questions. You are on the right track. I did notice that you had the "Shell" sticker on your rear fan plenum. Would you mind taking a close up shot of that sticker and send it to me? I would appreciate it very much. I plan to reproduce them for some club members here in Houston doing restorations. That is the mating connector for the O2 sensor plug - it is not the actual O2 sensor. I believe that connector is part of the engine harness assembly and is not available separately. Others have salvaged that connector off harnesses from parted out cars. And yes, it is brittle. The one on my SC is broken in half (but still functional).

PM me your email addy and I'll send one off, or I could just post it here if you like. Does anyone know where I can get the studs that connect the engine and tranny from? I mounted the motor using the adapter ring from our host, and apparently I didn't have tight enough and while turning the motor upsidedown I bent the two studs on the oil cooler side. ![]() Live and learn I guess Quote:

Try Partsheaven, Hayward California. They for sure have them, $5 each maybe. Or, get one from a Metric Fastener supplier.
