I'm pretty sure they're a Sparco side mount. I'm running the outer ones 'flipped' so the seats are as far toward the centre of the car as possible ( maintaining clearance between the two seats ). A bit less pedal offset that way :-) I've had the side mounts and matching sliders for a while - with the outside mounts flipped they line up with the factory seat mounts and only required drilling some new holes to meet up with the OEM captive nuts.

In both the RS Replica and this IROC project the seats are close to touching in the centre. ![]()

A quick update;
Door panels are now in place. Eventually the pull straps will be swapped for mexico blue versions. If you look carefully you'll note the pull straps are further back than normal - long story, but basically these are early car versions that have been modified, and hence the bellcrank position was moved rearward to suit on the door skin. Door tops have been trimmed in suede to match the dash. Door lock buttons have been deleted. ![]() ![]() Outer door handles are being re-fitted too. This is the passenger one - we don't need no steenkin' key locks! ![]() And just as a sneak preview, here's the car sitting on it's wheels after a 30 minute shakedown drive.. ![]()

A final post showing some finishing details.
An oil breather catch can is important for track use. This is an off the shelf ricer product, but fitted my desired mounting location well. ![]() A lightweight sealed battery designed for a Harley motorcycle is used. A fabricated aluminium mount keeps it secure. A two pole battery isolator switch is on the ground. I may swap this for a four pole at a later date. ![]() The suede headliner was in place some time ago, but this is a better shot. It also shows the underside of the fibreglass sunroof replacement panel, trimmed underneath in lightweight carpet. My sunroof insert weighs 1.5lbs.. Eventually I want to do a carbon version. ![]() The final touch for the exterior is the custom carbon reflector replacement. A sticker was used as a mask, and the panel painted in mexico blue. Removal of the sticker and then clear coat results in the raw carbon showing through the Porsche script. ![]() Finally for this post here's a shot of the engine bay complete. ![]()

Finished!
Finally the project has come to and end, and stage two of the fun begins - driving ;-)
There is always more to do, and continuing development, but for now the IROC is going to see some track time on Aussie circuits. It debuted two weeks ago at Wakefield Park in NSW, and despite some pretty severe weight jacking as I had no time to corner weight it, the car was a blast to drive and quite fast. Of 50 odd cars entered in the Porsche Club NSW super sprint, I ended up 12th outright and 2nd in class - not bad for a shake down run. The car is very predictable to drive and responsive. All the makings for lots of fun! Here's some shots I snapped today after a quick wash. I still haven't colour sanded the paint and buffed - that'll come prior to a concours event in October. You'll also note no exhaust tip - I'm fabricating a new one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
