Need advice with ignition wire

I am rebuilding my 77' carrera 3.0l engine and my original ignition wire set qualifies for a well deserved retirement.
I went on Pelican's site and I want to understand the difference between the OEM Style Beru set and the genuine Porsche set (which retails at more than twice the price!). What's the difference between them? Isn't Beru the original supplier for this part?
Thanks for the clarification.
Mathieu

Sounds like the Berus have problems with the end connectors - that's what I was trying to point out (I guess unsuccessfully). I think it's mentioned in that other thread.

Alright thanks.
The thing is I want to stay stock. I just want to know the difference if any between the Beru braided ones at 225$ Vs the OE Porsche at about 500$. I am puzzled because on the one hand, I've always heard that Beru was the oem for this part and on the other hand why would pelican offer both with such a price gap if they were not different.

Maybe Wayne would shed some light? Or anyone who would know?
Thanks

Is Beru OE or OEM for the ignition wires? That could explain the difference. Either that or it's another case of changing the box and adding 50% markup because it says "Porsche" on it.

Ate calipers for early 911s, let alone the S alloy calipers are double the price when the box says Porsche. Open it, and it says Ate on the same caliper that my BMW 320i E21 1983 model year has on it.

So are the "stock" Porsche ignition wires that come in the Porsche box really the same identical wires as the Beru ones, just with a different label on them?

If so, I know how I'm resolving this situation. I just want to make sure the Beru ones aren't ones that LOOK LIKE the Porsche OE ones with similar materials (maybe) but are in fact the actual wires that come in the Porsche box built 100% to factory specs.

Anyone know?
