Early front bumper: SWB or LWB?
I found this old front bumper. I understand that SWB and LWB front bumpers are different, but which one is mine?

I say SWB, you can tell by the all-chrome overriders. Is the narrow strip a reproduction? You can tell by the ends ,they are not as well formed on the reproduction.

I thought you could tell by how the L brackets mount to the body. If it has two horizontal holes on the bumper then SWB, vertical holes then LWB.

I agree with John. The SWB cars came with a thin rubber (vinyl) strip between the aluminum strips like yours. The rubber strip on the LWB models was much thicker. The all chrome bumper guards also signify early SWB cars. Some later SWB cars had chrome with a rubber pad in front as did the earliest LWB cars but as far as I know, none of the LWB cars were all chrome.

The both could have come with the regular trim (non-S).
Bob hit the nail on the head. The SWB attachment is a long bent piece of flat steel and mounts to the bumper with two horizontal holes. The LWB has a fabricated attachment and connects to the bumper with two vertical bolts. I had to adapt this in '72 when I installed an 'S' LWB bumper on my '68 SWB. Best, Grady

Thanks all! My bumper looks exactly like the one KevinP73 posted. SWB it is then.
