Me too! I couldn't care less about the radio antenna, but I definitely want a heated windshield.....Canada is definitely as cold as Norway!

If anyone finds a North American source for the heated windshields, please let me know....

Thanks

Dennis

Ok Axiom...

Very cool... the pics were great, solved the first mystery.

- I thought the windshield seal was all one piece and fit around the windshield itself and then into the car as on earlier cars.

- Still want to know.. are the 964 parts the same?

- Definitely plan to do this mod... rear window pretty much the same process? Must use 993 rear glass?

Thanks again for contributing your time to the board!

You guys are welcome!!!!

The 964 Rubbers can be use and it is a one piece, but it is roped in like the other ones, the 911 window frame is a little bit bigger, so the 964 seal and glass will most likely leak, and it is a mess to seal.

I have 964 front and rear glass, the rubber is a little thicker but I like the looks of it. when it stops raining I will take better pictures.

Does this hold true for the rear as well..?

- I'm already convinced on the 993 front glass and seals... Will be ordering the seals by the end of the week.

-Want to confirm same for rear window usage...

What I think is really slick on a "seal" upgrade is the door seal around the the outer frame that seals to the body on the later coupes.. again 964 and 993. My understanding on this is that you either have to change out the window frame or the complete door.. correct.

Yeap! rear glass work the same. BUT, if you are gonna use sealant for a 993 application, this sealant is visible from inside the car, and in time it may come to bug you, so now we go to the services of a good upholster, make a strip of material and glue to the sealant, it has to be a pretty job, I use the same material as the headliner, but it look much better when I use 993 headliner.

993 door frames are great, I have them on my car.

Part time bone collector, I am.

I forgot to mention, 993 or 964 glass has to match the seal, front and rear.

Rats!! one more thing, if you buy the seal from the dealer, this seal is meant to go on a 993 car, so it is a little short, we leave this gap at the bottom and them my installer fills it with sealant, again, the importance of someone who understands.

Good luck and show us some pixs

Sounds good and thanks for the info.

Will be awhile before I actually get to it...
I'm trying to finish the mechanicals and some other minor clean-up before the weather here breaks.. want to drive it to Hershey in April and display in a local show the following weekend in May. If I embark on this project now I know I won't make it because I'll end up doing the headliner, the dash.. and probably update to 993 door panels!

Hmm, I'll probably collect all the bits this year and do this next winter!

Finally, I got some times to take some pitures and upload them. Sorry it takes so long guys. Did I tell you guys that it reduces wind noise? Yes it does.

So, is there a "gap" in both the body seal and the window deco trim that needs to be sealed?. If so, do you offset the gaps to avoid overlap? Any pictures of the gaps?

Thanks for sharing. I'd like to see some pics of the rear 1/4 windows.

I'm guessing the gap in the front seal is not in the decorative trim but the one underneath that cannot be seen?

TIA.

Reviving an old but good thread to ask:

Are these the correct part numbers for the seals?

993-541-435-01-M260 - Inner
993-541-925-00-M100 - Outer

and is this the right sealer? http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Marine/Home/Products/Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECIE20S4K7000000_nid=GSKQJHJ TYNgsQH8HT14PGTglG65TRKDG1Lbl
