Wide Body Thread
HI,
I am converting a '70 911 E to a RSR style. I have a set of turbo rear fenders to add to the back, but I wouldn't consider them a wide body. Are there specific fenders taht get as far out as some of these fine examples, or, do you take a turbo and add metal to go out that far? Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim |
18x13 with 1 inch spacers, still not wide enough.;)

You need to go to American International Racing or GT Racing's websites and look at their 1974 RSR panels etc. Don't be seduced by the simplistic looks as if you have someone else body fit these panels it is not cheap or even reasonable in some cases due to the amount of time involved. Its not for the faint of heart nor wallet! But as long as you know that going into it, you'll be as happy as the proverbial bug in a very nice rug. |
Thank you Reaper930! Good advice and direction on where to start!

For example the left rear fender was about inch shorter than the right where they meet the rear bumper. John added 2 inches of material under the left fender where it meets the bumper. Doing so made the right rear fender vent look lower than the left vent. So the left fender rear vent may have to be lowered in the fender.;) F/g turn signal houseing to be grafted on next. The new rear bumper was too far off to save, we'll try a another one next week. Every part has a story. ;) If someone made new molds off a perfect RSR it would save a lot of work for installers.:) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1225667664.jpg |

It started life as an '86 Carrera DE car with cams, suspension, brakes and all the right stuff. The 924 was bone stock to start with, but that changed. Ended up with turbo S suspension and a torson diff. Both cars would more than hold their own on the track as street cars. Steve Ed |
