Where RSR Fuchs Anodized? and other questions?

I'm in the process of redoing a set of Fuchs to replicate the RSR finish.

I plan to glass bead the wheels -- petals, lips and insides. Then I'll paint the area inside the wheel black except for the petals and the lips.

My question is this: Was the original RSR finish, after bead blasting, anodized? If so, was the original RSR anodization colored or tinted or just "clear".

Additionally, was the original RSR finished wheel lip smooth or was it also bead blasted?

Would it be possible to just clear coat the wheels after I've painted them in lieu of anodization?

These will be track wheels for my sliver 1989 Carrera.

IMHO, the RSR finish is the best. It is anodized with a frosted look on most of the rim and petals.

The outer lip has a mild polish, less frost. you can see these details in th pic above.

Do you get the frosted look by bead blasting first, then anodizing? If so, ......... details on the process anyone....

I am not sure, but I suspect the frosted look is not from bead blasting. Blasting will create a surface that is rougher than you want, and probably hold brake dust, grease etc more than you want. Good for pre-paint, but not as a stand alone finish. I would guess the finish you want is more of a chemical etch, rather than mechanical blast.

That wheel is just to preety to put on a car. You should get a glass top and put it in your living room.

I believe the frosted look is actually achieved during the anodize process. There is an etching step added. I don't know if they mask to lips to keep them shiny.

The center of that wheel is painted but the rim part is the polished and reanodized area?

The frosted look is from the type of bead blast used then anodize ,even using old media can change a finish.
Anodizing also comes in various flavours most common is bright or dull ,I think anodize over a light media bead blast looks awesome and almost metallic if you bright anodize
