Pg. 124 of Porsche 911 Performance Handbook by Bruce Anderson makes reference to: "For assembling the engine, an assembly lubricant should be made by mixing engine oil and molybdenum disulfide compound..". I went into a local parts house today and asked for molybdenum disulfide for this use and got the deer in the headlights look. Of course, the response was "we use Lubri-plate for that...", which I used on hot rod engines in earlier times. Any thoughts on getting Bruce's recommended ointment?
Thanks, Jack McAllister |

Ask for some "MolySlip". It's a Moly compound that is sold as a gear oil additive. If you get a "deer in the headlights look" take out your rifle

I was in an auto parts store the other day that carries Redline products and noticed they make an engine assembly lube. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Pete
