Yeah Tony!!! That last minute color change was a good one. I like it. Really pops on the compound curves of the front and rear bumpers. It's going to look great on those big A$$ flairs.

You'll get there ... don't worry. Just follow the advise I was given about 6 mos ago... I had someone tell me... Just do one thing at least a day, or every couple of days... turn a bolt, fix something, wire up something or install something. then before you know it, you'll look up... and it's time to drive it. that's what happened to me.

The other good advise... do all the things you need to do to make it drive, then finish the rest as you drive it. That is certainly good advise.

I can tell you my car is the exact manifestation of the best imagination I could come up with!! it's a thrill to drive the once ugly behemoth that looked to be so far away from reality. I am truly facinated by the fact that I could assemble such a thing as this 911. It's really an amazing, amazing feat of engineering.

Wish you could really hear this engine sing. it sounds incredible.

You'll get there. NO DOUBT! -- but remember to enjoy EVERY inch and moment of the journey and sock all those memories away... cause that is more than half the fun.

We know - having done this roughly the same, how fantastic and memorable it really is to build a car of this quality basically with our bare hands. It's awesome!

Be encouraged! You're getting closer every day. Never give up... and be paitent, Any thing this cool takes a good deal of time to create. You're looking super cool. I love that blue!!!

Complete suspension is by Rebel Racing, which includes raised and reinforced spindles, coilover kit w/ coils front and rear( painted to match ) , 935 spring plates, urathane strut mount bushings, bump steer kit, boxster S calipers with custom Rebel Racing caliper adapters, zimmermann "Z Coated" rotors, all poly bronze bushings......

Tony,
Great to meet you and Al at the Walker Swap-meet this morning! (I bought the wheels & thanks Craig!). I just got caught up on your thread because of course it is raining and I should be outside chopping trees down for my project :p Holy hell, what a way to start off your painting with the primer not hardening!..heh heh. I am glad you settled on the blue. It is going to be stunning!

Keep us all posted on the progress especially the noisy thing that hangs off the back!! ;) My interest is now piqued with your esoteric motor build. I will be following with interest as I start to tinker with my 2.7

I was looking at your front calibers... are they boxster S rear calibers? What are you using at rear?

Great looking car.

Great looking car.

They are 2000 boxter S calipers all around.. and thanks for the compliment

Jaskas 11-07-2010 10:32 PM

How could you fit those boxster pads on stock 911 rotors? did you grind them smaller or?

jmccam 11-08-2010 05:45 AM

Brother, that is a very nice car. Makes my jump into repairing a suspension pan this winter seem less daunting.:D

Ok i thought that boxster S calibers are the same than 996 calibers which wont fit over carrera rotors. ( I have 996 calibers and rotors in all corners)
