I need opinions on putting side scripts on my car. I sold my 72S and now have a white 93 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. I am very happy with the car but I do think that all white with the 964 bumpers make the car look odd. I thought about adding a carrera stripe to break up all the white on the car. I played around with a picture and here are 3 ideas I came up with.
First the basic stripe. ![]() Stripe with bumpers done. ![]() And full 73 RS look (If I can get Spare Wheels) ![]() What do you think guys? Am I just being silly? ------------------ Clay Wilson 93 C2 Cabriolet [This message has been edited by CWilson (edited 05-01-2001).] |

Don't mess up such a nice 964 Cabriolet. It's nice as it is. The script makes you think lightweight RS's, not heavy Cabrios. If you want some fun replace the wheels or perhaps the exhaust. Just my suggestion.

oohhhhhhh, bite my tongue! Dare I say the word - - R...I...C . . . No, I can't go on. The 964 cab is a beautiful car - don't try to make it look like something it's not. Just my opinion.

I'm an advocate of cross-breeding the 964 with the early 911. But my thinking with your car wouldn't be decals, it would possibly be a bolt-on, aftermarket bumper treatment. In my opinion, that's where the 964s, in lighter colors, look a little 'heavy' -- like their shoes are too big.
That said, I don't know of any specific options for 964 bumpers (wasn't there an RS America front variation?). But the usual places (GT Racing, Rennspeed Motorsports, Bodymotion) might give you some ideas. The other way to go would be a wing, which balances out that heavy front bumper. ![]() ------------------ Jack Olsen 1973 911 T (3.6) sunroof coupe jackolsen@mediaone.net [This message has been edited by JackOlsen (edited 05-01-2001).] |
