RSR Wheel Finish - Nagging Question!
Hello!
Man, I love these wheels! My question is; how can I achieve this flat chrome'ish finish on my wheels. Is it paint? Power-coat? I want to make mine to look just like these...(see below). Thanks so much! Tom

Tom - I had Corvette Center clear coat my wheels and they messed up on it. To get the paint correct, they need to get some special paint from House of Kolor. Some people have used "dull Aluminum" paint.

If you want them to look just like that, send them to Harvey Weidman.

They can do wonderous things with powder coat. It's durable and comes in an assortment of colors and finishes, even chrome-like w/o the molecular effects of real chrome on aluminum.
However, one famous wheel designer/manufacturer, Mr. Jongblad of Jongblad Wheels (sp), in a recent article in Victory Lane magazine, which specializes in vintage racing, cautions that the powder coating thickness can mask incipient cracks which would be more easily observed with a thinner coating like spray paint.
