I went out today and bought some Dunlop DZ101s( cheap) for the SC. Streets are streets, right? $hit dog, these things are dangerous. I've always been a fan of saving my street $$ to spend on good track tires but damn!! What a great way to turn your 911 into a Buick. Perhaps my expectations were a bit lofty. The 101s are going back tomorrow- might try some Kuhmo SPTs for another cheap street.

some tires feel greasy when new and need a 100 miles or so to "break in" or some need to be warmed up a bit. i have the hankook rs2's and love them. great tires for under $100each.
i also really like the bf goodrich kdw2's. great wet and dry traction, long wearing for a good price.

which one? they have a new one out but they don't make it in a 315. are you running big tire out back on your turbo. I have dunlop 8000. they are no good.

I used Dunlop 8000 255 up front and 315 x 17's on the rear and had no problems with them, other than chewed the rears in 8K miles, then I decided to go with the Sumi's - under $100 ea = almost disposible - I definitely highly recommend them. Same sizes 255 & 315 x 17's @ the Tire Rack.

You think they have better grip and overall better then the 8000? I spun the 8000 in 2nd and threw my in the bushes.

I am aware of the grip factor on new tires. The loose feeling was due to tire wall flexion. One poster had it right when he said to try to wiggle the car side to side by pushing on the side of the bumper. You can't make the car wiggle on good stiff sidewalls. Think what an evasive maneuver would do at speed.

Actually it was more like 30 minutes of DROVING on these tires with various tire pressures. It's a sidewall issue- but don't take my word for it- go out and buy some yourself-drove around awhile. I'm sure you'll be pleased, then you can add some constructive comment to the board.

I like the Sumi's. Great value!

seriously...are you sure its the sidewall? some new tires feel squirmy at first, but after a few drives feel "normal". give them a little time. if not better by 100 miles or so, take them back. it would be such a hassle swapping tires if you didnt have to.

Well - you DO have to put 100 to ?? miles on to scrub off the mold release compound.

thats what i was thinking he was experiencing. patience grass hopper and you might actually like the tires you have.
