Turn Signal Wiring Question

Lately I've been experience an problem with the flashers. They tend to work intermitently, making me suspect a loose wire or connector somewhere between the switch on the steering column and the fuse box relay (it's both lights, so I don't think it's between the relay and the indicators themselves). The problem seems related to going over bumps, since it's over road construction that I seem to lose them or get them back. Any thoughts on where to check?
