ZDDP Additive Needed

Friends,

I have less than 150 Miles on my last oil change Castrol GTX 20/50 and will be switching to Brad Penn or Swepco at my next service. What oil additive should I use in the interim ot enhance my ZDDP in my oil?

I drive my car 1-2 times a week and it is bone dry stock.

Thanks in advance.

stp makes a oil additive with zddp
there are also outfits online that sell it as an additive (google zddp oil additive)

EOS by GM is one of the best of these products. Available on the internet. Have you read the exhaustive (exhausting) thread on this subject? I'm not sure Brad Penn and Swepco users need to worry about this issue, but all the information is there.

I just did the same thing. Didn't want to toss the GTX 20W50 so I added the Comp Cams ZDDP break-in product to it. Hope it works!

Oil additive needed? On a stock engine?
No, you don't. You've been watching too many info-mercials or listening to too many internet experts.
On a stock engine you can run the cheapest oil on the market and you will notice absolutely no difference.

sure- tell that to the clients with worn pitted cam lobes and grooved rockers !

Navarro has probably the best information on this site with regards to oils- it is very worthwhile reading.

Thanks for the feedback

All this buzz about Castrol GTX 20/50 now being lower quality than it wqas before got me concerned. My engine has never been rebuilt and has 92K original miles on it. I don't mind adding the addditive if it is truly beneficial for the next 2,500 miles.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply. Like allon the board, your comments are appreciated. I like them all, helpful, sarcastic, humorous, etc.

A little pricey, but I heard it's the best.
