Clicking in my dash
There is a clicking in my dash. it clicks faster the faster I go. I know that the odometer is electric, but I dont know if the speedo has a cable or if it could be something else. Thanks for your help

I have the same...
The speedometer makes that clicking sound!
![]() It would be interesting to know how to make it go silent again... I think it has something to do with the trip-counter? Ole |

I also have this clicking sound coming from my dash. The speedo in my '83 is electric. To confirm it I even cut off the engine and coasted down a short shallow hill. As my speed increased to a dizzying 10mph the sound became more frequent. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I first repaired the odometer but seems to have come on somewhere in the last 6 months of so. At least normal wind and engine noise drowns it out at any speed much above a crawl

Heck I have a one click every so often. Will check if it does that when I go up to speed. I thought maybe it was the cab's temp sensor.

Perhaps it is related to a temp sensor... |

Had this clicking just two weeks ago. I had asked a mechanic at a local shop to go for a quick ride with me to at least tell me about where it was coming from.
He pulled my speedo and clock and quickly unplugged the output from the speedo to the 02 sensor counter. I guess it really is a counter from the speedo and turns on the 02 light on mileage. It doesn't make the noise any more....

02 counter was #1... #2 if it still clicks:
Mine clicks when the trip odo is reset "badly" (last digit stuck in between numbers, generally 9 and 0) each time it reaches 0000.9 and wants to go to 0001.0, "click"... The faster you drive, the faster the click, obviously. Gotta get it fixed at some point, but usually a day's worth of reset attempts eventually fixes it. I've found that I can break it on demand if I reset the odo while moving, so now I try to only do it when stopped ! |

For SCs: OXS sensor light mileage counter tied to speedo.
OXS light comes on every 30K based on the mileage counter box. Reset button on top it. Click occurs regardless if light needs a reset or not. |
