I have a question for everyone: are there any adverse side affects to using a later bodied galvanized body panel to an earlier non-galvanized body panel.
I did not know if there would be a reaction to two dissimilar metals? chris ------------------ chris collier collier@iglou.com 72 911T stock and ok with that, for now |

Chris,
The metals are not dissimilar. Galvanizing refers to a layer or coating of zinc which is applied to the steel (usually by "hot dipping" it into a vat of molten zinc) Unlike untreated steel which rapidly oxidizes until it is all gone, the zinc forms a coating of zinc oxide on its surface which prevents further oxidation from occuring, thereby protecting the steel underneath. Too bad it wasn't part of the Old E. Les |
