first drive since Dec. '06!!!!! Pelican made it possible!

Well after doing a front pan, rebuilding carbs, paying to have dizzy rebuilt, paying to have gas tank refurbed, cleaning up front suspension and lord knows what else i actually took my car for a ride today. last night i drove about a mile up the road to the gas station but today was an honest to goodness ride!

I have many projects to go and will probably have a good porsche wrench give her a once over to double check my carb work, etc. but i am back to actually driving my damned car!

The help offered here and at earlyS is what makes owning a car like this possible for a guy like me. i can't just write a check every time something goes (nor do i want to, wrenching is very therapeutic for me) and yous guys are such a HUGE help. it is my sincere hope that i can give back even 1/4 of the help i've been given.

Beautiful! I love the 2.2 - great engine.

Still stock? Interior pics?

i'm in Berlin, just outside of Ocean City. Will definitely be heading out on runs to meet all my philly, balto., dc., va porsche neighbors!

car is a dark green metallic painted by the PO (oe is conda green). interior is in pretty nice shape as well though i only currently have one seat mounted (Nurburgring model from GTS Classics). motor is a 2.4 euro T case w/ S cams, 2.2S pistons and webers (haven't verified internals as of yet) per PO.

i'm not taking any LONG road trips just yet as i want to feel it out and make sure all systems are good (brakes, fuel, ignition...just about every major system was tweaked/refurb'd during this period).

rick i'm probably going to pay a visit to Matt DeMaria for some weber follow up and final tune up time in the next month so i'll check ahead with the Dorki group and see if i can't work in a visit depending on how long he needs the car. i'll probably trailer it up as i don't want to put a LOT of miles on the car w/o a weber expert checking my a/f and such.

how's your longhood project goin???

oh, pics are among the first w/ my new 50mm 1.8 lense on my Nikon D70. it's kinda neat to be forced to work with one focal length and causes you to be more creative.

Well done, great work and I also think nice pics. Just bought a 70-300 VR for my D70s but now I want to practice getting that look!

john i'm going to rent a long lense if i can make it to the historic grand prix at Watkins Glen this year. my other lense is the kit lense so i'm just now experimenting (did a wedding gig and would like to do a few more to pay for more goodies).

the 50 runs about $100 and many say it is Nikon's sharpest lense. 1.8 is pretty fast and the depth of field at 1.8 or even 2.x is quite shallow so you get a very cool effect.
