I finally found her... my first 911

I've wanted one of these since my college days (early 70's).

A good freind of mine at that time was a very talented Porsche mechanic, and he had built up quite a following. I helped a bit in his shop and got to test drive some of the nicest 911's and 912's in the area. It was then I fell in love...

I saved my nickels and dimes and started looking several months ago. Found several too, but, you know, none of them really "spoke" to me...

Until this one... discovered her in Nashville TN. A 1983 911Sc in Chiffon Weiss, 84996 miles, all original with the exception of the oil fed tensioners and the pop off valve. I'm the third owner, and the fellow I bought from had owned it since 1984 at 4000 miles.

Everything works too, well, the A/C is not the coldest, but I'll deal with that down the road. I've already purchased from our host and installed (with help from this forum) the front hood struts, engine lid strut, and front sunroof seal.

I know I'll have some questions to post soon, but for now, What fun I'm having!

Thanks for sharing my excitement... I've got to go for a spin and right now!

Nice looking SC. Too bad, I thought you were in Nashville for a minute there. I am a born Hoosier, but grew up in Monterey and RI. Went to HS in IN though. Anyway, this is awesome... 2 new Plotters in one evening!

Evansville here... nice to see other Hoosiers in these forums. Ever get down this way? I'm in Vincennes several times a month on business, although in a four door sedan, not the 911.

Congrats on your dream machine. Don't be surprised at the crappy a/c though. From what I gather from the owners of cars with a/c, the systems in those year models are inefficient and energy robbing lumps of metal and rubber.

Well....I guess you should know the bad news, Some one should of told ya, anyone could of, transparently no one did................. The car is .......Very cool !!! CONGRATS !!!! But watch out for the slipery slope !
