Great guys. "Otto's" is an enthusiasts place, not just a shop.

Otto even posts here every now and then. Never heard anything bad about him or his shop.

I just met Otto for the first time last week. He seems to have an incredible depth of Porsche knowledge, and his shop is filled with used 914 and 911 parts.
If you are looking to buy a part in the used market, his shop is definitely worth checking out. |

I recommend Otto's. Note: owner is John, not "Otto."

I always assumed "Otto" was John's nickname.
He took me for a ride in BB1 once on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway roval and cooked my brakes. I've never been able to get the brakes that hot since then. He's a very, very quick driver.

I bought a used 2.7 CIS airbox from Otto. The part was as represented, the price was as quoted and his directions from waay up in Pas down to Venice were spot on. What more can you ask for?
He was very nice and his shop looks like the kind of place that gets serious work done - not a sterile operating room - if you know what I mean. A shop for people that really drive their cars. Good guy.

Jack,
“Otto” is a variation of “Automatic.” Ask John. John is a great driver, great mechanic and life-long Porsche nut. He deserves all the support we can give. I’m pretty sure he did the 200 mile service on my new ’68 911 when he worked at Vern Hagestad VW-Porsche. Best, Grady

The problem is getting Otto to express an opinion on anything...he tends to be a little shy.

Agree Otto's shop is great- they did my 1st clutch after 130K, and he is a hell of a race driver and doesn't BS... known him from my old SCCA club racing days-- he showed me the fastest line at different tracks in my then #24 ITA/SM Miata....

My experience was not good to say the least. I did one deal with him and it was the last. I highly recommend TRE.

I was working on a project in Venice and had stopped by when my rear sway bar got loose. Turned out to be a 5min fix and fixed it for free even after I offered to pay. Nice gentleman.
However, he was not very fond of my backdated heat and said just by listening to my car that my alternator bearing was going. Nothing was wrong with my alternator bearing. My car is still roaring!!!! I second TRE. |
