Curious CIS tool on ebay
Is this possibly for crimping connections on the CIS lines?

not for crimping. You place the new cis tubing in this clamp tool and the short exposed end of the tube pushed over the barbed end of the fitting
thanks for posting- i just bid on it. We use this a few times a year and mine grew legs ![]()

There are instructions and dimensions on how to make that tool in this service manual I have for Volkswagen Rabbits and Sciroccos. I bought the book used for cheap just because it covered CIS and you can never have enough information.

Jeff, I responded to your PM. Others have asked about the instructions to make the tool, and I don't know where my VW Rabbit/Scirroco manual currently is (the wife moved my reference library around).
The "tool" clamps the flexible CIS line, allowing the exposed portion to more easily be pressed onto the CIS fitting. I should think one could easily fabricate this device from two small blocks of steel or aluminum and cutting the clamping grooves with a Dremel tool. Brian

Or take one small metal block and drill a hole just slightly undersize of the CIS line diameter. Then saw the block in half, drill holes for a pair of screws and wingnuts, and voila, the tool.

Or just convert over to standard 1/4" fuel hose like every other car in the world uses.
I have a stock of those plastic metric lines, but they were a monumental b1tch to source. Finding stuff for standard size hose is far, far easier. Don't even try to find braided S.S. metric hose. It doesn't exist.

There's a guy on FerrariChat.com who is selling CIS plastic fuel line restoration kits. This thread has pics showing his installation tool (I'm not a member of that BBS, so I can't view the pics).
