Anyone have a solution for the NLA fuel filters on '74s?
Figures. The original fuel pump (that fits the factory bracket with the accumulator) is NLA. Then Porsche made a new bracket to accommodate the new style of fuel filter when they decided to make the original style of fuel filters NLA. Now, predictably, THOSE are NLA. So how the heck do I adapt a "new" style fuel filter (since that's all one can buy now) to a '74 with no available factory adapter bracket?
Anyone have a good solution to this problem so my fuel filter isn't just flopping around in the engine bay (and fatiguing fuel hoses, which is bad)?

'74 CIS Fuel Filter
Jeff, Here's what I did. There are other solutions (search the forums) but this has worked well for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch - good info. I may go filter hunting this afternoon at the local AutoZone.
(I can't help but notice you rotated the "fram" logo towards the firewall to hide it, which is exactly what I'd do!) ![]()

Yes, the "Fram Made in China" logo got turned inward out of pride/shame! That filter is used for pretty much every Ford fuel injected car/truck from the 80's and cross-references to lots of manufacturers. Cheap too. So you may be able to find a "Bosch - Made in China" if that is less offensive!

I seem to recall having an issue w/ the 0em fuel filter on my '76 C3, a liater filter was eventually fitted w/ some conversion hardware. Unfortunately i don't recall the details. But it is all threaded fittings like oem.

I may know some one who has a few of the OEM ones in their stash, but they are expensive. PM me if you want to to see if he has some for sale.

Found one of those Fram ones today and I'll vouch for it fitting fine.
Modification of the accumulator fitting is required however (not a big deal). I recommend converting from the hard plastic metric fuel hose (extremely difficult to source) to standard 1/4" diameter fuel hose - at least to the fuel distributor on the CIS and for the return line FROM the CIS. I'll post pics/updates (hoping to have this fuel system completely done this week, after many weeks of procrastination).
