An homage to the 73 RS

I want to do something fun with my 993. And here is the result. Everything is reversible, so in case I want to go back to stock.

The car has RS carpets with rear seat, deck, belts, etc. thrown out. Lowered suspension. Engine has SW chip and ltw flywheel. Exhaust is cat bypass /w modified muffler. It sounds mean!!!

Enjoy.

Outside looks good. I would paint wheels to match graphics like on the real Carrera RS.

You must put some lightweight fabric over the speakers, though.

looks good, tint 35% all the way around, cover up the speakers, and you're done.

wow that is fantastic!

LOVE the exterior and suspect yours won't be the last to get that treatment.

Love the exterior - very clean, nice graphics, and of course dat beautiful duck. The only change to the interior would be to lose the speaker covers and insert black speaker cloth between the speaker and the door panel. The plast-icky covers look totally out of place.

Otherwise, an excellent job!

I agree about the speaker covers.

Now, here is just an idea, but looking at your beautiful car, what I would have done had it been mine, would be to match the Carrera side script, Porsche scripts, and wheels to the blue on the interior. I think it would totally it all together...

my 2 cents

I agree. The outside is very nice -- tasteful, even.

I wouldn't tint the glass or paint the wheels.

It's a shame the interior isn't a pale grey to match the graphics. I'm not a big fan of the blue or the blue/black combo.

Thanks for the comments. I do have a navy blue set of Carrera script. If I put that on, I will paint my OEM cup wheel the same color. I will probably have to dye or get a black center console & shifter/handbrake.

Seemed that no one likes the speaker cover.

i really, really, really like the graphics color as is. so very nicely done! i don't know about the rest of the non-993 owning group but this car has me wanting to drive one of these puppies and see what it's all about.

interior just doesn't match the vibe of the exterior. power seats, exposed speaker grills, airbag steering wheel (i know you'd never change that but still), etc. are not jiving with the ltwt door panels and such.

i think a set of gt3rs buckets and some black fabric for the speaker grills would go a pretty long ways to getting the interior up to speed with that absolutely perfectly done exterior.

and i agree, don't paint the wheels as the color works so well with the script color!

Definately a set of Fuchs!

Where did you get that Duck tail? It looks great!

Ruf makes a Duck for the 996 that gives it the 73 RS look, and it looks great as well.

I am in Dallas. I am also eyeing some lightweight seat as the stock ones weight +50lbs.

It is still my daily driver so I have to keep the airbag.

Not normally a fan of white cars, but I have to say that looks great,
Particularly like the duck.

Beautiful, beautiful car. Agree on the speaker covers. Also looks like your handbrake needs adjustment. Typically I don't like white cars, but yours is great. I'd keep the graphics as is, they match the wheels and the whole package looks very well executed.
