bare tunnel

I am currently working through my 80 SC getting rid of extra weight, etc that I dont particularly care for in the car. I seem to remember seeing a shoot of an older car in Excellence or Pan of an old 'cafe racer' style car, very minimalistic interior, black drilled through floorboards, simpler door panels, etc. and a bare tunnel that was same as ext. body color.
I would like to do something similar but have not been able to find a whole lot of visual references, either here or google, maybe Im just missing the proper keywords.
Anyway, if anyone is currently running something like this or has pictures of stuff like this, it would be greatly appreciated!

ext color?

there is an Rgruppe car that may be like what you say - Rob Dickenson is name IIRC, he also has a band called Catherine Wheel so plug in those search terms in the upper RH side search drop down box

any number of light wt. threads exist to help you - even one on the bumper cars that is active now

recognize that the specific items you mention are of no consequence in weight savings or the car's dynamics - they are cosmetic or look & feel issues.

be sure to search on Euro crush tubes if you keep the big bumpers

You might find drilled floorboards here on Pelican, or at Rennline.

Basically this:

but the look of the tunnel from Flieger. Is that what the door sills look like without carpet or has that been altered?

ShakinJoe: Ive been following your thread with great interest, looking forward to keeping up on your progress- also, the RS interior thread was helpful, saw some stuff in there I liked...

The whole interior on my car has been stripped out. The white you see is GP White paint to match the exterior. The gray is the primer/rough protective paint stuff.

i think that looks sweet! I want to do partial carpetting for the interior but then the rest like you have done there. Its like I have a vision for what I want it to be like, I just havent seen it exactly yet. I might just do a couple drawings tonight and get some more ideas for parts etc...

I did want something in back to cut down on glare. Very lightweight, though.

how about the RS felt "carpet"?

or flocking

or flat black paint?

satin gray paint?

remember, even carpet will not add a lot of wt.
