+1...
Keep in mind the values that you want to measure. The mid range for the torque wrench should be around that value.

I would go with #2. You will regret not having ratcheting action with the fixed wrench #1.
Consider this as well, many of the torque ratings that you will find on a Porsche are lower than the 20 ft/lbs that is the bottom end of your second selection. My Snap-On has a bottom end of 5 ft/lbs and a top end of 75. It is a flex head, but couldn't find my glasses to read the model #. Now, let the rest of us know how you get Snap On stuff for free!! ![]()

Is it ok to get a 3/8 and then adapters to make it 1/4 or 1/2?

I've snapped several adapters. 1/2" 50-250 is the single best bet imho. Get a good one but never, ever use it to undo things. Not even once! That's what breaker bars are for. I just bought my 2nd so I learned the hard way.

it would be very cumbersome to use a 3/8 + extender to do the wheels 1/4 is just not needed for 99.5% of owners. |

Is #3 , with 5-75 lbs, a better option for my porsche then? It doesn't seem as important to me to get the 15 lbs bolts at the perfect torque- am I wrong about that? I can use my credit card reward points for Snap-on gift cards ![]() |

I would say that it is important, but I have a biased opinion on this matter!!
![]() edit: Having a top end of 75 ft/lbs probably means you will need two torque wrenches as mentioned before. 1/2" and 3/8" drive... If you have both, you have most of the range covered.
