That CMC 1/18 901 model: Wow !

Normally I wouldn't do reviews of 1/18 models on this board, I'm not a collector nor did I take the best pictures (macro mode + flash = ugly), but I had to share with you guys because of the subject matter...

You may have seen that 901 model from CMC advertised here and there, Autoweek among others, and yes, it's like $300 something... What fool pays $300 for a 1:18 model, you ask? Well... normally not me, but this is worth making an exception for !

It's *HEAVY*, all metal, real paint, not the plastic feel from $30 models... The upholstery, carpet, everything is fantastic. The engine detail, the metal emblems, hell, the damn wheels unbolt by removing all 5 lug nuts.... need I say more ?!!!

This could turn out to be a collector... And the subject matter is pretty cool ;-)
They have 4 colors but apparently the other 3 will take a month + to arrive, so I stuck with off white (looks white because of the flash) which matches my 912 anyway...

The only way to make this better would be a drop of swepco201 smeared under the gearbox ;-)

I'm been warming my other half up to the idea. "Almost there..."

Anyone know if the pale yellow/black interior version has been released or what the release date is?

That's gotta be one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Except for the real thing of course.

Now you can play with a Porsche when you aren't in the garage or driving.
