headlight problem

I can be driving down the road at night and my headlights will sometimes burn brighter for a minute or two and then burn dim for a while. Doesn't matter if I rev up the engine or not? I recently blew a fan belt and replaced it. Could it be that I don't have it tight enough or do you think maybe a short? 72 911T with 3.2

Likely voltage regulator going. Check the alternator output at the battery while car is running. It should be around 13.8V or so. Not much higher.

Mine stuck and overcharged the system...ended up burning out my headlight bulbs!
