Weekend projects Tunk refinish almost complete and roll bar progress coming along

Here are the almost comlpeted trunk pics.....

Installed battery relocate to smugglers box with Odessey 925, cleaned up painted trunk, stripped of anything unneccessary. Rennline carbon hood prop. What's left, install battery shut off that utilizes windshield washer nozzel hole.

Working on my roll bar, autopower bar attached on floor and rear fender well. Not exactly inspirering. I am going to fabricate a chromaly plate that ties the cage to roll bar using the stock B Pillar seat belt attachments like TRE's bar. I am also considering installing a removeable door bar that runs foreward and bolts to the inner frame to stiffen the chasis. Originally the bar was powder coated red, serious PITA to get back to bare metal.

Finally, it's about the little touches, no one makes a RS door pull in orange, so I found so webbing and made mine to match.

I have put alot of thought into the type of belts I want to use, it is still street registered and will be driven on the street occasionally. That being said, there has been a lot of discussion around o.e. belts vs. harnesses, because I elected to install a roll bar I am going to use 6 point harnesses. As has been discussed padding on roll bars doesn't help much, a good helmet or a system designed to keep your head from hitting the bar are the only choices. Since I don't plan on wearing a helmet all the time 6 point harnesses will be installed. They are a PITA to get in and out of for daily driving but I chose to install the roll bar.

With regards to the seats and harnesses I am going to be using new products developed by a friend who races in IMSA GT. He has embarked on a new business adventure to birng seats, belts, suits and shoes under his team name. All will be designed and built to the highest standars and FIA certified. I will be using the the six point harnesses in conjuction wilth carbon/kevlar seats designed by my friend. The manufactorer is the supplier to another major seat brand and is known for excellent quality. The seat and belt designs I will be using have already been FIA approved. As soon as I have them installed and permission to post I promise I will have lots of pics.

Thanks,
John
