Dang Chris! car is shaping up beautifully! I have not been on the boards here in a while. Nice to see your car is still progressing. One of the best in my opinion.

Yeah I haven't been on here recently myself, but the build is still plugging away...

The single wiper theory kind of works...

I met a neighbour who had made a homemade Sandblast booth, very useful and handy :)

Just need to find some 'stuff' to put in the bags (orange hi-vis will be first aid).

My Clutch eventually arrived last week, so I can finally plan to install the engine :)

Jury - hello from a fellow industrial designer / porsche fan. Excellent work - keeping us inspired. Combatic and I discuss your project often here in the design studio.

Any progress of late?

I am at a loss for words - this has been a fantastic read! Excellent work, your creativity and craftsmanship are an inspiration. Looking forward to what's to come!

PS: Where's the pic of this wiring harness loom? My imagination is running wild with what it might look like!

Thanks
Chris

I am starting to re-think my approach based on what you've been doing-really incredible and inventive. I do think drilling out the Porsche logo would be a solid statement, perhaps test with a re-pro lid. So where/how did you get the porsche logo on the wheels; I don't see a decal adhesive edge-great placement too; just really enjoying the approach on my second trip through the whole thread.

Can't wait to see the motor!!

Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile.

I think I will save the drilled out logo for another day, as for the logos on the wheels they are simply Brake Caliper decals picked up on Ebay, various colours available. The are just a vinyl decal with individual letters. Peel off the top sheet, stick in place, rub down and then peel the backer off.

Oy! Jurys on the path no! Hope all is well!

Just afew updates in preparation for a big update.....soonish.

I rebuilt the Shift coupler using Superpro bushings, and couldn't resist seeing what it was like. I had a feeling that the shift coupler on my Red 912 wasn't in the best shape, and I wasn't diappointed...

Inner part of the bushing was missing...

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/P1060716.jpg

Alot of play, front to back, side to side...

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/P1060718.jpg

Fitting the rebuilt Shift coupler into the Red car was straight forward...

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/P1060721.jpg

I had measured how far the original Shift coupler was inside the socket, though had forgotten about the spline rotation....needless to say I reversed out of the garage ok, however going into first I still went backwards  I couldn't find 2nd and 4th felt like 1st.

Afew adjustments later, though I think it was more luck than skill, and it was sorted. The difference in shifting is amazing, much more solid and direct. Great upgrade, just make sure to measure and mark its current position before removing
