Technically, I think the original post was OT.

Yes it is technically off topic but this is about the only place I go. No time for 10,000 posts in the OT section so it just wound up here. I was however reading an on topic post when I saw some of the post numbers. So then as a techinical question how many posts does it take to get 340HP NA out of a 3.4 carrera engine. There now we all now back on the right path.

6 a day will get you there. OT might be 20% of mine.

Hardly anyone will remember my 914 race car. I started off as Zeke914 and spent a good deal of time on the 914 forum. But, the real fun was on the 911 forum, so I was posting here at the same time not even having a 911 (I did have one from '82-'96.) Then, I get the '71S and did a TON of panel replacement and bodywork. I documented it all here. That, and answering questions about similar work, must be another 20%.

Also, not posting elsewhere. I don't post on Rennlist. I rarely post on the Early S Reg. I have no posts on any of the regional BBS's like the South Bay thing. Or SCWDP and GruppeB.

Things that will make you a Post whore.

1. Purchase a 911 for $6,800 which needs a lot of work and get screwed by a shop and have to redo 75% of it.

2. Have no idea how to redo the work but with the help of guys like RoninLB, John Walker's Shop and Walter Mitty (and many, many others) start to work outside your comfort zone getting it sorted out and run crying to the forum often.

3. O.T. zone and the crazy times we live in.

4. O.T. zone and post a lot of random pictures.

5. AND TRY TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE WHICH HAVE HELPED YOU.

Nope, too busys sitting here.

Actually, yes. The styling clay stayed with the plaster and I had to figure out a way to heat the plaster mold to get the clay out. One thing I had to do was wait until the plaster cured and dried enough. Another was to find an oven big enough. I got 'er done.

Now on to laminating the first part which will become the basis of the plug.

Rack up another post.

Cool, can't wait to see the progress.

what kind of 911 you own is a important factor too ! us superior 3.2 owners (with a wanker-g50 if your lucky) dont need much support here
Those poor SCWDP guys spend thousends of posts just to find out cis is crap and replace it with a Carrera kinda system and offcourse the posts wasted making crappy valve guide jokes to us 3.2 owner while we were driving !

Cheers,

Ed

I must credit Jim however....I wish I had thought of "snow tires"....I admit I did lift it once, but felt bad about it...maybe I'll change mine to "snow chains" instead.

it would be an awesome feature to get a post analysis graph. Something like bar graph showing counts for:

1. thread starts in technical forum
2. response in technical forum
3. thread starts in OT
4 response in OT
5. response to "more random pictures"

And also an average word count per thread......

No Porsche at all here...just stuck around after getting shed of my old beater. Certainly not interested in any of the new P-cars.

Take away political threads and with the exception of a few people, you take down just about everybody over 10,000 posts.
