Sorry about that - Bad memory.
Never heard back from him -As far as I remember

If you can tell me how to ship them, we might be able to figure something out.
The doors are awesome, but this project is big enough as it is.

No problem.

I will look into the shipping thing again. I have a mate who recently shipped a GM auto box from the states at a reasonable price so it can be done.
Would you be able to get hold of a box or boxes to put them in?

Uncle, sorry for the late reply.

If you can set up something with shipping, I will pack them. Just don't know how. Will try and find some way that'll be secure.

I am back...

Guess what the engine has been fixed. Bruce, flat6pac, got it fixed faster than I can say top-end-rebuild. the worst part was the shipping out to him. Freightcenter did not do to well on that.

anyways, the engine is back and I am here with an update:
This is how the engine sits right now. I just need to get some washers to space out the hex nuts on the high TQ starter. then it will be put back in:

As you might notice, I have removed the original 5 blade blade in favour of better cooling.

When the engine was out getting fixed, I cleaned up the CIS, scroud and tried to figure out what state the ALT was in, bad.

It has not been painted, just cleaned. there is not going to be any bling about this car for now.

The ALT did not look good. Well, on the outside it was nice and clean, but the wires and insulation was old and brittle. it looked sad. I have now bought a core from Bruce. Here is the old one:

continued...

As i believe I have mentioned earlier, I have got my back against the wall now, since I'll be moving in a couple of months. This car will have to be on the road by then.

I have been fixing up lots of bits and pieces. Here are the tail lights, which I blasted, etch primed and painted on the outside.

While I remember, I actually planned on using the old plug wires, since the car drove fine, back when... and money is, well you know.
when I reinstalled them one broke. This is what it looked like:

absolutely corroded!!!

Well, I also stumbled upon another unwanted surprise, more rust:

Let me tell you, when I discovered this, it looked like nothing. It was just a little bubble, that had been able to hide under the glue on the sill.

Any ways i dug in, and it got bigger and bigger. I feel I was lucky. I have seen pics where you could see lots of rust that required this entire section removed and changed.
Here is the repar sequence:

As you can see, once you dig in, it is a lot worse than it appears.

to be continued...

I forgot the last picture of the rocker:

This is close to where I am at for now, just couple of more pics, to give you an idea of this change I have made to this project, for now

Sound pad installed along with glimpse of what it will look like when done

I hope to be able to install the engine this week along with wrapping up the final touches on the exterior...

It will not be for everyones taste, it will be a fun, all business, driving machine.

Cant wait to fire it up.
