Bullet Fuses in Atlanta

I need a new fuse for my interior lights and thought I had a few laying around but I can't find them. Is there a good place to buy these fuses in the Atlanta area? Ideally I would like an assortment but a single 5 amp would do.

I don't know about Atlanta but I get them at O'Reilly and Advance.

I can have a look there. Usually if I ask for anything specific for this car at those places they just look at me like my head is on backward.

Yep, Advance, AutoZone, O'Reilly's...they all sell them. Just wander down the aisle where the fuses, electrical connectors, etc., are. You'll see 'em.

What you will most likely find locally is the plastic body fuses vs the OEM ceramic. Get a temporary fuse locally then order some ceramic replacements. Host catalog shows plastic - not sure if they have the ceramics. I found some on ebay.

What advantage is there to buying ceramic? I buy the plastic fuses from Pep Boys figuring there's no difference.

Ceramic fuses (5 amp) are yellow and in the blister packs in any auto store (NAPA, Pep-Boys, AutoZone, etc). Each pack contains at least one 5 amp ceramic fuse. If you need more call George at Automobile Atlanta in Marietta. He has billions of them!!!!!!

I recall one of the amperage ratings were absent (or maybe minimal count?) from the package at FLAPS..(don't recall which and it was long ago) For now, I'm loaded to the max on all ratings used within the car,..having simply ordered them online (somewhere)......

as to LOCAL: +1 on what Bob said.

Best,

Doyle

Plastic vs. Ceramic - What are the pros & cons? Other than originality.

Thanks

In my experience the plastic ones will get shorter and shorter due to the heat of the circuit. After a while they will not make a good connection. The plastic just will not hold up to the heat for the long term. They never fail at a convenient time.
