Question Install issue of M&K muffler

Received my M&K 1 in 1 out muffler today which I purchased from our host. I bolted it to my Fab Speed Cat bypass with no problem. I am having no luck getting the circle clamps that came with the muffler installed. One of the clamps is slightly bigger than the other. They seem to be short as I cannot get them to connect. Any advice is appreciated. 1987 911 Targa.

You can't clamp either one, even the larger one? Ben told me the small one for an SC, big one's for a Carerra), and that it's OK to use just one. I used both anyway.

Yes, pics would help. You can also call Ben. He's very helpful.

If Ben finds the clamps are correct I suggest 3 things. First do not snug down the bolts to the bypass until everything is loosely installed. Second, the T mounting bracket is adjustable so loosen it as well and try again. Finally I had an aftermarket system on before the M&K and whoever installed it bent the T bracket so I also had to remove the bracket, straighten it out and re-install. Once everything is installed then snug down the bypass bolts and then the clamp.

Yep, that's what I did too. One clamp. It's been on for a few months now. No problems.

You're gonna dig the sound!

Yes the 135 is all that is needed in some applications the 127 is required but typically not. I like the 135 without the spring that way you have a bit more room

I just installed just installed an M&K on an 87. It also came with a 127 and a 135 clamp. I put the 127 on the passenger side of the muffler. It was a tight fit. The 135 was too big to clamp down. I looped it across the flange on heater pipe crossover that lined up with the muffler bracket. Don't know if this is correct, but it seemed to work.

On my car, the furthest one in the picture is the larger one, and wraps around the muffler AND the heater crossover pipe. The one closest should be the shorter one, and wraps around the muffler and the muffler to chassis bracket.
