Where is clutch switch and servo on 83?

Trying to find a picture or description of where the clutch switch and servo is for my cruize control. I have did most of the testing with a volt meter and ohm meter and can't get 10ohms between ground and pin 3 on the harness. Meaning I have either a bad clutch pedal switch or the solenoid on the servo.

Don't know where either are.

I did a search of the forum but didn't find any good pics for you. I pulled this from the PP catalog. Hope it helps a little.

Clutch switch is located inside the center tunnel, and is actuated by the clutch lever arm where the clutch cable attaches to. If you pull out the center console (might not be so easy if you have A/C controls) and lift up the carpet you'll see an access hole on top of the tunnel just in front of the shifter tower. It's pretty tight in there.

If the servo is what I think it is, it's in the engine compartment, bolted on to the crossmember/shock tower on the driver's side, right up against the firewall.

Thanks I do have AC (non working). Do you think I have to pull 1 seat to get in there or just twist the center console. It seems that switch is not working.

I would pull a seat out, it'll give you more room to roll around in the footwell to check the clutch switch anyway. I managed to get my center console out with both seats in place but in the process I broke the plastic tab on the console.

The servo is in the engine bay. It sits in the corner closest to the driver. It has a long pushrod and tube(like a bicycle brake cable or lawnmower throttle cable) that loops around front and hangs in the bracket that is pretty much in the middle of every engine. It connects to the throttle.

Found a back clutch switch and fixed it. Haven't gone for a drive but is there anything to fix on it. A servo is just a small motor with an actuator right? Hopefully my clutch switch was the issue with cruize control. I had tried a 9v battery on 2 of the pins while the car was running but that was before the clutch fix.
Anyone take a detailed look into the servo?

On another note I removed my heater blower and verified it is dead. So I ordered the grainger replacement motor. Seems simple enough to attach the squirl cage to the new motor and replace.

The servo is a vacuum controlled device that pulls or releases the throttle to modulate speed. Check for leaks in the lines going to the back of it.

Dun fixed, PO likely never had this working. Took maybe an hour to adjust the switch so it disingaged when you push the clutch.

Sure is funny how in 83 that was some high speed stuff. The mechanics on how the switch turns on an off is not really the best engineered.

check back postings on this question as many people have found cold solder joints in the cruise brain.
