1988 Carrera Intake question

I loosened up my driver side intake manifold but didn't have to remove it. The black (plastic?) valley cover was not touched.
Can I just re-torque the intake nuts after I replace the nuts without having to replace the intake gaskets?
I tightened it but couldn't get the correct torque do to the short allen socket. I just got a new long allen 8mm.
I have a very slight whistle but I am going to retorque it this weekend.
I don't want and problems with a motor with 15 k original miles.

Thanks
Jack

That slight whistle might be the sound of a gasket that got sucked in if it persists after tightening it down.

Cheers,

Joe
