What's "wrong" with this story... besides bad writing?

140mph Porsche Creates Havoc, Then Driver Gets Away

Story Created: Mar 6, 2009 at 8:13 AM CST

Story Updated: Mar 6, 2009 at 6:29 PM CST
Authorities this morning are still looking for the driver of a Porsche that led police on a high speed chase overnight. In fact, to call it a high speed chase is an understatement.

It started around 12:45 this morning when a Beaumont police officer attempted to make a routine traffic stop near Phelan and Calder. It was determined by running the license plate the car had been stolen out of Houston earlier in the evening.

The Porsche took off and, once on the interstate, was reported to be going as fast as 140 mph. One officer even claimed the driver tried to ram him head-on, but narrowly missed.

Officers eventually caught up to the vehicle, but not until after it had been abandoned with a busted radiator on I10 in front of the Palm Harbor Homes in rose city.

Beaumont Police saught the help of a K-9 unit, the DPS and the Orange County Sheriff's department in combing the area. The search was called off after a little more than an hour.

I don't see where it says what model. Could also be a 944....or a Boxter, Cayman....

The real question is "Does Porsche even make and air/oil cooled car anymore?"

Okay, did the writers misspell sought ("saught"), or was it the poster who transcribed it and complained of "bad writing"?

I've had "busted radiators" in two Porsches--one a 996 Turbo I was testing, the other a Boxster we own.

A "140 mph" Porsche? Don't you have to go back to the 80s to find one that can't break 150?

For all we know it could be a Cayenne. I don't know if those can do 140.

I recently rode in a new Cayenne turbo. Fantastic SUV.
Did 160 mph and still climbing. Quiet NM hiway, straight and flat for about 10 mies. Verified with GPS.
