Well, I have a pretty distinct memory of this thing being in my box before I went to the P/C shop. I think there may be a rubber insert or something in the garage that goes with it and holds "something" in place.

However, I can't find it in PET or anything.

AND, I wouldn't put it past the PO to have done some ghetto-engineering and found this somewhere else.

The bracket that holds the CIS up from the throttle relay plate had, instead of a rubber stud-spacer, a lug nut and a bunch of duct tape, for example.

Aaaah, the plot thickens...

You're the beta-tester for the all new "tax bracket"...Just spear all of those loose dollars every time you get one and just send 'em in...(they knew you were such a thoughtful, trustworthy young lad so they sent you one first)!:D

C'mon guys, quit screwing this guy around - he posted a legitimate question.

This is the hold down clamp for a DIY oil filter using a coffee can and a roll of toilet paper.

Sorry to hijack but are we all still of the concensus that Purex 4 ply is gives the best filtration?

Man I am so happy this went the Fletch way rather than some sort of Star Wars way with people discussing the milenium falcons (had to look that up) and all that other stuff.
P.S. my handle is named after Rodney Dangerfield's boat in Caddyshack, Seafood. Also named my 40 sportfisher the same thing!
TYhanks for making me laugh on a crappy Friday at work.
Anyway, sorry I am not any help with the part, I have never seen that on any of my cars but does not say that it doesnt belong there.

whatever it is - it will add weight - toss it.

mca 03-27-2009 12:18 PM

Bracket that holds the blower motor?

Honestly I have no idea b/c I removed that stuff when I backdated the heating system.

madmmac 03-27-2009 06:48 PM

You are holding it in the first pic the old way, that was when it was called the L bracket.

You need to flip it and rotate it to the newer, faster version, the 7 bracket.

FOR SALE: 1 Ultra-rare NLA 1972 four-door "7-bracket". $3000 or will entertain trade for factory longhood sport-seats.
